Non-Motorized Trails Coalition

Who is promoting and developing this trail system? It is a cooperative effort between multiple groups who advocate and maintain trails and planners creating connections with neighboring trail systems.  These groups have come together to form the Wasatch Loop Trail Coalition (WLTC).  Participants include: Mountain Trails Foundation, Mountainland Association of Governments, Utah State Parks and Recreation, Weber Pathways, Utah Bicycle Coalition and other private, municipal and county agencies holding particular interest in non-motorized transportation.

The Coalition is promoting the Wasatch Loop Trail,  a system of connected trails that includes the Provo-Jordan River Parkway, the Summit County Historic UP Rail Trail, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, and others.

Provo River Parkway, Provo
Non-motorized trails and pathways play a pivotal role in outdoor activities in the state of Utah.

They provide enhanced opportunities for recreation, exercise, and transportation.  More importantly they provide an alternative to vehicular travel.  Trails and Pathways connect neighborhoods and provide links to and from public facilities, such as: parks, schools, libraries, pools, ball fields and others.  There are many non-motorized trails throughout the Wasatch and its communities.  The Wasatch Loop Trail will provide a new experience in connectivity and opportunity.
