Purpose: The purpose of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is to promote, advocate and ensure the adequacy of care received, and the quality of life experienced by residents of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
Services:
- Investigate reports of alleged:
inadequacy of care violation of rights abuse neglect exploitation - Adovcate on behalf of residents to correct problems individually and on a systemic basis.
- Provide information to residents, resident councils, and employees of facilites to assit them in understanding resident rights.
Eligibility:
Senior residents of assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
Younger residents may be assisted if the issue is systemic and may adversely impact older residents.
