Job Title:              Delivery Driver, Meals on Wheels (On Call)

Department:       Aging and Family Services Department

Wage Rate:          Pay Grade 3 ($10.95/hour)

Hours:                 Temporary -- On Call Position
                             (Generally working one to two times per month as needed; work schedule is 8 a.m to 2 p.m. weekdays.)

Requirements:   

  1. Graduation from high school or equivalent, and one year work experience demonstrating job related skills.
  2. Must have good driving record (provide DMV verification if requested).
  3. Selected applicants may be subject to a full background check.
     

Licensing:  Must possess a valid State of Utah driver’s license and must be able to obtain a County Health Department Food Handlers Permit within first six weeks of appointment.

Essential Duties:

Delivers hot meal to Senior Center and home-bound seniors in the Utah County area.  Assists with loading delivery vehicle with meals and other items for delivery, drives vehicle to deliver meals to senior centers, volunteer drop sites and individual residences on a prescribed route.  Maintains records and makes reports related to job responsibilities.  Keeps assigned vehicle clean and reports required preventative maintenance needs.  Must abide by all laws pertaining to operation of delivery vehicle and operate vehicle in a safe manner at all times.  Must work cooperatively with other staff and clients, ability to locate addresses is desirable.

 

Physical Demands:

Regularly walk, stand or stoop, occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing to up 65 pounds; regularly drives a motor vehicle.  Reasonable accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation, when such accommodation does not impose undue hardship.
